Important: This invoice generator is provided as a free tool to help you create professional invoices quickly. You are free to use and adapt it to suit your business needs. However, please review all information carefully before sending any invoice — including VAT registration requirements, Making Tax Digital obligations, and payment terms — to ensure full compliance with HMRC rules. If you are unsure about your VAT or tax obligations, consider speaking with a qualified accountant.

How to use the UK Invoice Generator

1. Enter your invoice details: Add your invoice number, purchase order reference, and select a currency. Invoice date defaults to today; due date defaults to 30 days. (Adjust both to suit your terms.)

2. Add your company details and client: Fill in your business name, address, and any registration or VAT numbers in “Your Company Details”. Add your client’s name and address in “Bill To”.

3. Upload your logo (optional): Add a JPG or PNG logo (under 5MB) and it will appear on the PDF output.

4. Add your line items: Describe each service or product, enter the unit cost and quantity, and the amount calculates automatically. You can add up to 10 line items.

5. Add tax, discount, and shipping: Enter a tax percentage (e.g. 20% for standard UK VAT), any discount in your chosen currency, and a shipping fee if applicable. The total updates in real time.

6. Add payment terms and bank details: Use the Notes field for payment terms (e.g. “Payment due within 30 days”) and include your bank account details so your client knows exactly how to pay you.

7. Click “Create Invoice PDF”: Your invoice downloads as a clean, single-page PDF containing all your details, ready to send.
